You want airlines miles or points for everything you do. Yes, everything. There are opportunities to earn points everywhere. Each time you use your credit card, stay at a hotel, rent a car or pay your
phone bill - you should be earning points....
1A- Don’t forget Amtrak rewards-even if you don’t take a train.

Free Amtrak MasterCard that can earn points for everyday purchases. You can redeem points for free train travel or move points into United or Continental Airlines Mileage programs in groups of 5,000 with a 25,000 limit per year.

2. Get an Airline credit card. Chances are your current bank is already
partnered with a major airline and offers a "miles" or "points" card.
Now every dollar you spend earns a mile. Plus most cards offer lots of
bonus miles when you sign up.
Just go to your favorite airline web site go to their mileage program and look for the partner’s section you’ll be able to click on the link to get the info you need.

3. Join a hotel membership club like Holiday Inn's Priority Club or the
Choice Privileges Reward Program from Comfort Inn. Hotels also have credit cards available to earn points for all your purchases. Check websites below for Starwood, Hilton, Priority Club (Holiday Inn etc.) and Marriott.
The Priority Club card covers 3,200 hotels and resorts worldwide
including Holiday Inn, Crowne Plaza and Candlewood. Membership is free
and you can have your hotel points transfer directly to your airline of
choice for miles.

Another good hotel points program is the Choice Privileges. This
rewards program covers 2,600 hotels throughout the U.S. including:
Comfort Inn, Comfort Suites, Quality, Sleep Inn, Clarion or MainStay
Suites.

Starwood Hotels: Sheraton, W, Westin, St. Regis, The Luxury
Collection, Four Points

membership numbers handy when you pick up your car.
